Throughout the lists of Dukes of Hazzard items on Dukes Collector as well as in many Dukes Collector Blog Posts, the Eras of Dukes of Hazzard Collecting are mentioned. A detailed explanation of these Eras is described in the blog post The “Eras” of Dukes of Hazzard Collectibles. As in other hobbies such as comic books, the timeframe that particular Dukes of Hazzard items were released place them into three distinctive Eras. The first is the Golden Era. Anything released from the time the show was on the air belongs in the Golden Era. The next is the Silver Era. When the show returned to television in 1997 on TNN, it sparked a resurgence in popularity and inspired new items. Everything from 1997 until 2005 belongs in the Silver Era. The most popular Dukes item, the 1/18 diecast General Lee was first released in the Silver Era. The third Era is the Modern Era. The 2005 movie is used as the dividing line between the Silver and Modern Eras. All of the movie merchandise and everything that has come after it up to the present day is Modern Era.
